Method of Production:

The manufacturing of RCC pipes involves a series of steps to be followed in a sequential manner as stated below.

Storage of Raw Material Preparing Reinforcement Cage
Assembling of Moulds Mixing of Concrete
Spinning of Mould Demoulding
Curing Staking of Finished Pipe
Random Tests of Pipes Dispatch

Storage of Material:

We have adequate storage facility for storing the required raw material. We possess a closed shed to store Cement & Other items.

Assembling of moulds:

The Reinforcement cage is then inserted in to a mould. The two half rounds of mould is then tightened on both sides of the M.S. rings. The prepared mould is placed to runners made from railway wheels.

Preparing Reinforcement Cage:

Next step is preparing Reinforcement cage of appropriate size after providing minimum clear cover & spacing. The steel reinforcement of IS 2062 Grade-1, mild steel are made into longitudinal and spirals of 6mm. The reinforcement cages for pipes shall extend throughout the length of the pipe barrel.

Mixing of Concrete:

The Concrete of M20 or M35 Grade is mixed in mechanical mixtures as per IS 456. The cement, aggregate, water and reinforcement as of required volume according to mix design are put in a mechanical mixer machine. The water cement ratio is maintained as 0.45 with the help of water dozer. The mixed concrete is then fed into the spinning mould and the concrete surface is levelled.

Spinning of Mould:

The wound cages are placed in position inside the pipe moulds with suitable cover and placed over the moulding machine. The mould is then rotated on runners and the concrete is put in to the mould from both open ends. The mould is spun with reaves gear machine till the pipe gets set.

The concrete is evenly spread in to whole pipe due to centrifugal force. The excess water comes out from concrete and the concrete becomes denser as the speed of rotation increases.

The casted mould is demoulded from moulding machine and allowed to set for 24hrs till the concrete hardens.

After 24 hours of initial setting, the concrete pipes are removed from the moulds and immersed in curing tank. In the water curing method, the pipes shall be cured for a minimum period of 7 days for non-pressure pipes.

Staking of Finished Pipe:

The cured pipes are then taken out of the curing tank with help of crane and stacked properly at our stock yard.

Random Tests Pipes:

The cured pipes are randomly selected and tested on the Testing machines. The pipes undergo the following tests in accordance with IS 3597: Three Edge Load Bearing Test, Hydrostatic test and Permeability test.

The tested and properly marked Pipes are dispatched to various sites through open body trailer type trucks and trailers. We have four trucks with people expert in unloading of pipes.
